Director - Film & TV

Trygve Allister or "Trig" Diesen is a director
working in Scandinavia and the US.

BEING THE DIRECTOR – MAINTAINING YOUR VISION WHILE SWIMMING WITH SHARKS is my video essay on film- and TV-directing and the role of the professional director told from the inside by the director – me – himself.

It’s a blunt, painful and hopefully funny and though-provoking journey into my work on the Sundance Film Festival US indie Red, starring Brian Cox, and the hard-boiled TV miniseries Torpedo, starring Jørgen Langhelle and Aksel Hennie.

The video essay is artistic research and part of my doctorate in film-and TV-directing from The Norwegian Film School. I’m also a former grad from University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts.
